Ric's Roughneck Raider's 10 Ranging Rules:
1. Never waste expensive swords or equipment when raiding, only use swords and equipment you can easily afford to buy back or bury.
2. Never garrison swords overnight or permanently in one camp. If you send a wave you must try to be on when they get back to resend or remove them. We never want our enemies to hit us in our camps we should either be on an attack or removed but never present in the camp unless we are unlucky enough to be hit while adding or removing garrison. If they kill us then they get Victory points, give them nothing.
3. Standing orders are to hit and run. We are gathering spoils and annoying our enemies not trying to wipe them out... necessarily..
4. Attack approved targets, we will make a list of targets on the forum and maybe MOTD we will not mark them as enemies because we do not want to draw attention to ourselves different players are on at different times do not want them to know we are a threat till we are..
5. If you are an officer close camps when they reach level 4 no need to waste resources and silver since we want to keep the camps and party sizes small to minimize losses and repair cost.
6. Be random. Move around a lot if you are playing do not stay in the same camps, mix it up.
7. If multiple Raiders are on at the same time communicate, if you sent a bunch of waves out of a certain camp and expect retaliation, be sure to give your fellow roughnecks word so they know not to be in there for the counterattack.
8. If you are a Roughneck you are now a leader! Parties will be small the most you will be able to garrison is 8 in a camp, 16 in a region, so do not be afraid to take charge and lead any other raiders on a team wave, to combine your attack and strength. 10 roughnecks times 16 sworn swords equals a respectable 160 sworn sword wave..
9. 10 Roughnecks times 2 beers apiece equals 3.5 cases of beer. And absolutely no absurd alliteration allow around our alliance.
10. Never attack an Alliance ally always clear your targets with an officer first or use a known established target.
Ric's Raiders creed:
Recognizing that I volunteered as a Raider, fully knowing the hazards of my chosen profession, I will always endeavor to uphold the prestige, honor, and high esprit de corps of the Raiders.
Acknowledging the fact that a Raider is a more elite sword who arrives at the cutting edge of battle by land, or sea I accept the fact that my Alliance expects me to move further, faster and fight harder than any other sword.
I shall never fail my comrades. I will always keep myself mentally alert, and I will shoulder more than my share of the task whatever it may be, one-hundred-percent and then some.
Demonstrating that I am a specially selected and well-trained sword. My courtesy to superior officers, neatness of attack and care of equipment shall set the example for others to follow.
Energetically will I meet the enemies of my Alliance. I shall defeat them on the field of battle for I am better trained and will fight with all my might. Surrender is not a Raider word. I will never leave a fallen comrade to fall into the hands of the enemy and under no circumstances will I ever embarrass my Alliance.
Readily will I display the intestinal fortitude required to fight on to the Raider objective and complete the mission though I be the lone survivor.
Raiders Lead The Way!!!
Nothing new under the sun this I Raided from Rogers rules and the Ranger creed completely...
