I know that we've talked about how we want to construct our camps next phase and how we are going to operate but i just had an idea that i wanted to run by you guys and thought that id create a thread for other ideas like this one.
I was thinking about Z's idea to focus on winning one of the specialties prizes, like most aid given or most harmful actions, and had an idea. Maybe we should completely focus on one of those prize types, Im going to choose Aid for the sake of this post, and throw everything behind this action. Meaning we get all three camps to 10 during phase 1 and then quickly get the Aid camp to level 20. But once there thats all we do, aid. We only upgrade the spy and barter camps as necessary to get the aid camp to 20 and then we send ALL our troops to aid missions, even the ones in the spy and barter camp. In fact all our CP for all three camps will probably need to be going towards aid missions to win that prize.
I know this is a pretty different idea from what we were talking about but getting the three camps to 20, while totally doable i think, might bring more trouble than i think we are prepared for this phase. I keep thinking that if we come out of the gate with three 10's and in say fourth place. It will be awesome until a larger alliance in fifth or sixth decides to wipe us out and use our camp as their farm. I'm probably paranoid in this thought but i keep thinking that until we are REALLY ready for a battle maybe avoiding one is the best route. But after Z proposed his idea I looked at the winners of these "specialty" prizes and hadnt heard of any of them. Winning a region is probably not realistic but I think taking one of the specialties is totally doable.
I do think there could be some problems though, and i'm writing this before doing any of the research on how these work so please forgive me:
1. I think these prizes are figured on a most actions per PLAYER so in a tier of 25 of varying levels of CP it why I think we should totally send ALL the CP from all three camps to do aid runs. When our camps are at 10 or so, we cant put all our personal CP in the aid camp. I'm guessing approx 20 CP per player at level 10, but all three camps together will give us 60 CP going to aid. At least outside SS's going on spy or barter missions. And as the aid camp levels up we need to move more and more of our SS's to the aid camp to maximize winning the aid missions. And once the Aid camp levels to 20 we completely abandon the barter and spy camp to focus aid. In fact we could offer those two camps to allies for them to farm if it would help us politically.
2. I think winning aid missions becomes a priority. We cant choose the top ranked alliance to aid, or even a good ally. It must be a weak alliance that is preferably being attacked. And weak is the more important. I have two reasons for this; one is that we need to WIN the aid mission, and two is spoils to rank the camp up. Please correct me if you know otherwise but I'm going to guess to win that specialty prize its most aid wins per player. I'm not sure a losing aid counts. If I'm wrong in this we can adjust but I think identifying an alliance thats at war and relatively weak should be a priority.
3. Another problem or at least unknown for me, is if the prize for most aid given changes camp or is always the same. Say its always in the north. I've never payed these any attention so I'm not sure but we need to know how these work and if we need to change region or whatever. I'm going to start looking into this more but if anyone knows please correct me.
I choose aid for this because according to our specialty poll thats what were strongest in and even those of us that arent, its pretty easy to use skirmishers and vanguards on aid missions. we can investigate some of the other specialty prizes but I think this is one we could win right now. Please let me know what you guys think.
