So for awhile now I've been attempting to build a suit of hand, armor and companion for each "attack" style. So for instance a fight set, harass set etc. but I've come to realize this is going to be really expensive. So I've altered my plan and am now creating specialized hand items but the armor and companion will just be intrigue or trade if that makes sense.
So here's my question, I have two quickened dragon eggs I'm working on for the battle and intrigue suits but don't have a trade one. So I'm wondering if I should buy a third for trade. I have a TON of the mats to quicken it after this last AvsA so I don't think I'll need to spend time gathering stuff for it and I don't think I'm going to get it to full dragon. But here's the kicker, I'm really focusing on speed bonuses for the trade set for AvsA. I think for Z's plan were gonna mostly be barter based so having speed is gonna be crucial. The problem with the dragon stuff is that it's speed increases are to adventures and quests. So I'm wondering what you guys think? I'm so torn because I have the mats for another egg but really want the AvsA speed.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Trying to get three dragons is a time intensive operation, but if you have the mats gathered why not? I know I've been heavily focused on defense during this incarnation but with the next one I guess I'll have to go with speed first. And yeah having a full set of specialty items would totally rock. I have enough perm'd items to equip 20 swords but even some of those are strictly class based.

Alex, one question regarding your 3-set strategy, assuming you are talking about Character items. Does that mean you will only do 1 type of attacks for an entire AvA ? Or will you alternate the sets (equip/un-equip) every few waves or so ?
Case in point: this Ava I tried to do all 3 attack types - Aid, Barter, Spy - in order to get all our camps up (then to collect spoils). Even if we were focusing on Aid prize, we had to do Barter and Spy, at least until we had the camps to lvl20. That means that you really needed an "all-round" set for your character, giving bonuses to any attack type...
So what that could mean, is you might need 4 (!) sets: one all-around, one battle, one trade, one intrigue :-) This sounds already a bit extreme...so maybe a powerful all-around one, with strong Seals on it (both for % attacks as well as % speed), could suffice ?

Duncan I'm not too sure what I'm doing with this yet. Ultimately I think I'm going to do the three sets of generalized, ie a battle, trade and intrigue, armor and companions and then nine specialized hand weapons. In reality I won't do nine sets for various reasons but that's kinda my idea.
Personally I think we should try to specialize our attacks for AvsA for a couple of reasons. N my opinion for AvsA attacks you want to win whatever attack your doing for both the spoils and VP. I see the logic with a generalized set, and I kinda have one that I used for all the AvsA until this last one, but it's just not that strong. If your lucky your winning 60 vs 40% or something close to that. I think that these AvsA are going to come down to one attack that your focusing on and the accessory attacks your using to support it. For instance we just did aid (our focus) and the barter and spy that supported it. My barter set is my focus right now because I keep feeling like that's gonna be our focus on off phases and Z's master plan. But we might go harass or fight one of these phases with these new changes who knows? But I also want to be able switch to a more offensive attack if we go to war with someone. Just like this last AvsA someone hit us early I switched to my fight set for maximum effect. And lastly I think it makes more sense for defense.
So my understanding is that most times the camp chooses the best SS to defend based on stats and sometimes but more rarely randomly. But if I'm going to be targeted for a defense I want the most strength to repel the attack. I recognize that this will get me targeted more but if we all are generalized then we'll still get targeted but not be able to defend it.
Honestly I'm still working this out and welcome any ideas you have. But I do know I won quite a few more aid battles than I lost and I didn't do much farming of empty camps. I play on iOS and currently can't see the battle results due to a bug so I have no idea how strong some of the players I went up against were so I'm still guessing on the effectiveness of my fight set but I felt like I hit those guys we fought pretty strong.
