Thanks to all who participated in the Justice Phase, unfortunately we missed out on the Helping Hands award partly due to the untimely bombardment from Shagga likes Axes. It took almost the whole day to reason with the leader and even after we came to an understanding his 'men' kept on attacking us, but that is in the past, we will have our revenge
The next phase is going to be an off phase for us but we will be building 1 Steal camp in the Iron Isles. If any of you are planning to merc during the off phase please let me or Col know sometime within the next two days so that we have an idea of who will be about during the phase.
Please start to build mats. for the next on phase. We plan on trying to take an award in The Reach and at the moment we are planning for three camps in The Reach, 2 Aid and 1 Barter.

Crafting Materials for Camps
This is the link to the spreadsheet where we keep track of crafting materials. Just go through your buildings and write how many you have of each listed crafted material in the appropriate space. After you have completed updating please update the date over your name. If you are currently reincarnating, type RI below your name. If you are currently working on luck recipes or dragon hunting, type DH below your name. If you have yet to unlock a particular material, type x instead of a number in the box. Priority crafts are marked in yellow (top building priority), marigold (secondary building priority), or gold (tertiary building priority) in the column on the far left. At the bottom of the spreadsheet you can find our building plan for next phase. Currently it is marked as one level 20 steal camp in the Great Wyk. We are low on scorpions and spitfires.

Not sure how much emphasis I'll put into crafting for the Steal camp. I'd prefer to use the SW for crafting "on-phase" mats myself

So this is going to be a long post but I'm not sure where else to discuss all this stuff.
1. What's the reasoning behind the L20 steal camp and the iron islands. Are we doing it for dragon mats? Or are we going for a prize? The reason I ask is that building a L20 takes a fair bit of mats and invites being hit as we saw last phase. I don't have a problem with building it, I'm just confused why? Especially on the off phase.
2. And kinda connected with #1 I'm wondering about our next "on" phase. I'm just speaking for myself but I'm getting kinda tired of just doing aid/barter/spy and going for peacemaker or some other support award. If we are planning revenge against Shagga then lets figure out how much CP we all have and then build two offensive camps and hit them hard. We could go for reaver or relentless. Something like that. If we are going continue doing support stuff and compete for those prizes, lets do them on off phases. Frankly unless we are trying to gather dragon mats or win a region, there's no reason to build high level camps. We only need camps that are sized for our CP level. We could build 12's and garrison them and probably be less likely to be hit for someone elses VP and still get our waves out for a support prize. And the same goes for offensive camps. But either way I'd personally like to use our "on" phases for either a different lower tier prize or possibly go for a region.
3. I know I've brought this up a couple times and I wont bring it up again but I really think that we need to explore trying to form a coalition with some other small alliances. This idea maximizes the strengths of small alliances and takes advantage of the positives of a larger alliance. Last Sentinels have again asked if we'd like to merc with them with this idea in mind. No one responded, other than Z, when I messaged this out so I'm guessing you guys aren't interested but this could be a situation that evolves into more than mercing. If you get three or four Tier 1's together and they rotate who is the "host" alliance then we will get wins under our name and can keep our smaller size. It also allows us to keep members that are RIing or underpowered at the moment to stay behind when we are not hosting and provide support or other needs to get the minimum award. And I'm not proposing we necessarily form this with Last Sentinels and their other alliances. We could try them out and see how everyone feels, and if we like it we can pursue. And if we don't we keep looking. But either way I still feel that this idea is probably our best, at least at our current size, of competing for wins and better prizes.
4. Finally with our new members it would be nice to maybe get a little, not bio, but brief of where they are with their characters and power level. That way we'd have an idea of whether they need help or barters or whatever to get them up to speed. I know I questioned the use for a L20 but if everyone is really dragon hunting then I say that becomes our goal and we build the 20's but ultimately it would be nice to discuss what our goal is for an "on" phase and then devise our plan on that.
that's it sorry for the long post.

1. What's the reasoning behind the L20 steal camp and the iron islands. I was wondering the exact same thing... 2. We only need camps that are sized for our CP level. I'm confused as to exactly how that works. If the entire alliance had roughly the same CP then yeah it makes sense but since we have such a wide range of CP amoung our members, what CP level do we use as a cap? No one responded, other than Z, when I messaged this out so I'm guessing you guys aren't interested I've said it before and I'll say it again. I'm not really interested in merc'ing but if the majority of the leadership thinks this is the way to move forward then I'll go wherever you guys tell me to go 4. Finally with our new members it would be nice to maybe get a little, not bio, but brief of where they are with their characters and power level. That way we'd have an idea of whether they need help or barters or whatever to get them up to speed. Definitely a good idea. I personally couldn't give a crap who knows my stats but I'm aware some people like to keep their info close to their vest. Still would be nice to know roughly what range our members fall into

The level 20 steal camp is marked that way to ensure we have sufficient mats if we choose to go that far. Looking at the sheet we can be there by the time the phase opens. As tier 20 camps actually offer better passive than equivalent smaller camps, it is better to build one twenty than two level 14s to get the 50 CP.
If we can all get to 100ish CP by the next-next on phase we could take a region. Bulding three 20s in the Reach would allow us to leverage Sam's CP. Furthermore, if we each devoted some time to raising White Aid SS to level 20 we could maintain a uniform garrison to decrease the number of SS deaths.
In other words, we have a little fun this off phase, reclaim our peacemaker title next on phase, spend one phase building and running alliance challenges, and then go all out for a region title.
During our off phases we establish a presence with the Last Sentinels group and develop diplomatic ties.

Right, where to begin. First, I suppose the off phase. Personally I'm seeing the off phase as having some fun. Revenge on Shagga in a small way maybe, being able to go out and do the things that we don't usually do, just for the sheer hell of it without worrying too much about winning or losing. Whether we get the camp up to level 20 doesn't really matter, the emphasis is on having some fun. The off phase gives people the chance to Ri, merc. or do whatever they want. It also gives our new members a chance to settle in and for us to learn more about them and what they want to achieve. The on phase, is just something that we can plan for at the moment, it's not set in stone. Until we have our places filled we're not going to know the extent of our CP and we can plan more thoroughly when we do. I get fed up with aid, barter and spy. Plans can be changed and adapted.
My personal view on coalitions is that it's something that I'd rather not do. I would rather strengthen our own alliance and try to win regions etc. ourselves which will take time and a great deal of patience. If everyone else wants to go the way of forming a coalition with other alliances that's fine but it has to be a team decision. I'd like more input from everyone on plans for our future, I'd like to know what you all want or hope to achieve.
I'll start a thread for everyone to put in where they are at with their characters so that we all have an idea which level etc. we are all on.

Well I guess I'll take this opportunity to introduce myself. I'm playing as Daeron Brune and I've been playing GOTA for about 8 months now. I was with the Asgard Alliance which I joined early to complete a quest, it was a big alliance with very little leadership or focus. I have been kind of dabbling in different areas of the game without much focus but I'm looking forward to being part of a more structured alliance and learning from more experience players. I went through my second RI a few weeks ago and I am getting close to fully upgrading all my buildings and should be done by the next on phase. I live in California so I'm usually pretty active during the day and evening pacific standard time. I have kind of been feeling my way through the game so far and am always looking for advice on different ways to approach playing. Not sure what else to say at the moment but I'm looking forward to helping out the alliance any way I can.

Good to have you aboard Daeron. We all know how hard it is getting coin after your RI. Post here or on the chat and we can send barters. I'll give you my couple of tips here and maybe others can give you there's, and sorry if you already know this stuff.
1. Create yourself a disposable army. Obviously you probably are using all your silver right now but once you get back up to speed and have the coin I'd recommend buying as many cheap SS's as you can. I personally shoot for 2x how much CP I have. So for instance if I had 100 CP I'd have 300 SS's. That way as they die you can easily replace them.
2. Friend As many people as possible. Go through the power rankings and friend everyone. They'll send you boss quests that you can help with and it will give you XP for ranking up.
3. Plan out where you want your character to be. For instance where do you want your best attack to be, are you gonna dragon hunt, or do you want to get really strong at AvsA. They all can effect how you play. We've got some guys and gals that have done quite a bit. Zayne knows a ton about RI's and sam, colwynn, and Ricardo are all good resources.
So I know your not new but if your old alliance wasn't too clued in you might not know a lot of this stuff.

Sorry it's taken so long to reply, been a little busy in RL.
Sorry if I came off like a pest in that last post but it sorta felt like we were starting to fall into the same rut of going support all the time. I'm not opposed to it, in fact I like it as an off phase goal but if we're going for an on phase I want to compete and have fun.
"My personal view on coalitions is that it's something that I'd rather not do. I would rather strengthen our own alliance and try to win regions etc. ourselves which will take time and a great deal of patience. I'm sorry I keep bringing up the coalitions and won't again but I personally want to compete. I would like to gain a reputation as an alliance not to fuck with. And I want to win a region. That's what I'd like to achieve.
Here's what I'm proposing. This phase we really take off. Last Sentinel wanted us to merc. I'd propose we build some small camps where ever they go to aid and barter them. Hell we do it enough maybe we win something. But those that want to merc go merc. But next on phase we go with what I'm calling "The Fuck Shagga in the Ass Plan". Sorry for language but there's gonna be more.
The plan:
1. Gain mats for four camps. Two camps two regions. 2. At the onset of AvsA we build a level one in each region to find Shagga. I've even thought it might be worth one or two of us breaking out for one day to form a burner for the recon and then regroup. But either way we find them and then we make it our business to fuck them up. I'll bet they'll be in multiple regions. That's why two camps for two regions. And depending on the region we can build the camp to suit whatever offensive prize you might win there. But we start in one region until they fight back and ultimately wipe us. Then we move to region two and go to work there. Then repeat. Let's make no mistake they will beat us, they are a seasoned group of fighters that are twice our size, but I'm willing to kill every SS I have to get some respect back.
We have five weeks to prep for this. Five weeks to gain CP and get throw away SS's. We spend this next phase helping allies. And this may sound weird but at the end I'd like to end up with Shagga as friends. If we go into it as fun and not butt hurt we could earn respect and maybe an ally. If revenge is a dish we want to serve cold let's freeze that sucker and really work it up.
What's really important for this to work is that everyone needs to be really active. To win the non regional prizes activity is way more important than CP.

You're right about activity being key. And I can't be nearly as active as we'd need people to be to pull off offensive wins. Ric isn't able to be as active as he was in the past. We are active, and around, but not able to be as active as before. As far as falling into a pattern of support, maybe we are. I'll go along with that statement. I will take the time to point out though, that we didn't stick to the phase set goals last phase. We asked everyone to keep to support actions, and it didn't happen. We didn't pull off anything in the region on our on phase, a support on phase. Would we have if we stuck to the plan the whole phase, no way to tell, but we didn't, and we can't say we did everything to make sure we did. The off phase plan of the steal camp is to give people an outlet in the off phase. Build at your comfort, use actions we don't usually get to, and possibly some decent spoil rewards if we get the camp high enough. We also planned on people that wanted to go out and Merc, to feel free to do so. As it's an off phase, nobody is obligated to do anything, it's simply the plan if you want something to do to keep engaged. We have only had 3 on phases so far as an alliance. A great debut, then one where we sent people to Merc, and miraculously still pulled off a regional prize, and last phase, where we didn't keep it together. Talking of going offensive is fantastic, if we can actually back it up. Can everyone honestly say that we can put the effort into AvA it'll take to pull it off? Did we keep our own house in order last phase? How do we work as a coalition if we can't keep everyone here on the same page? I asked people before what direction they wanted to go in. Most of the response I got was continuing on as it was. A few people let me know they wouldn't be as active for a few phases as they were in the past due to life taking precedence over the game. Alex has very valid points, and expectations of what he wants from the game. My expectations and desire from the game differ, but I respect that he knows what he wants. It's part of the reason I branched out to friends to get him and Zayne the opportunity to Merc and branch out. He wants to be on the cutting edge competing for the big prizes. I respect that. I, and my personal level of play, don't want that. I am happy to compete for the helpful regional goals. I am hopeful that we will be able to do an offensive phase, but my enjoyment of the game isn't dependent on it. I don't want to Merc. I don't have a desire to co-ordinate with a bunch of other alliances either. My goals in game are simply making my character better, and hanging out with our small family of players while doing so. Casually competing in AvA is part of it. I know we have very different goals, but at the very least I know he has an opinion. I know a few of you also have spoken up in the past also, it's the ones who don't that concern me. If the majority of you want more, we need to hear it. Sam and I came up with the phase plans together to provide us with things to do that we felt the current group could handle. If we misinterpreted what the majority wants, then we need to know. Thanks for your time, and never be afraid to speak your mind here, Col.
